How can I volunteer for the Berkeley Half Marathon?
Race weekend wouldn’t happen without our volunteers! From early morning setup to finish line support, every role helps bring the event to life.

Do volunteers receive a free race entry?
A very limited number of complimentary race entries may be offered to select volunteers. These are not guaranteed and are provided at the discretion of event management. Most volunteers choose to participate for the joy of supporting runners and the community.

Can groups volunteer together?
Yes! Groups can assist along the course and may be eligible to receive donations for their participation. If your group would like to get involved, please contact us at volunteers@berkeleyhalfmarathon.com.

What if I want to perform or host a cheer station?
We welcome musicians, roving performers, and creative cheer stations (10–30 people, art cars, unique setups). These roles help keep spirits high on course. Please fill out the Volunteer Application or email volunteers@berkeleyhalfmarathon.com to get involved.

What guidelines do volunteers need to follow?
All volunteers are expected to follow the Volunteer Code of Conduct to help ensure a safe, fun, and positive experience for runners and spectators. Team leaders will receive detailed instructions closer to race week. For any questions, please email volunteers@berkeleyhalfmarathon.com.
